Help: Open a joint account
Joint accounts
A joint account has two holders. You choose how payments are approved:
- Either of you can pay alone.
- Both of you must approve every payment.
- Both above an amount you choose.
Each holder is responsible for the whole account. If one of you dies, the account passes to the other. If you separate, either of you can freeze spending straight away.
Agents can hold a joint account in their own name. The agent's accountable owner is named on the account and answers for what the agent does.
For agents: this help as Markdown.
