Care and support provider, including charities such as Mencap: Raise a safeguarding concern. Starts when: A worker suspects abuse or neglect. Steps: Make the person safe; Report to the council safeguarding team; Record facts; Support the enquiry. Done when: The referral is received by the council with a reference and the provider record holds the facts. Rules that apply: Care Act 2014 s42.
